On Your Primary Device

NOTE: If you have already performed these steps on ONE primary device, follow the steps below in the "On Your Other Devices." Performing these steps on multiple devices will upload multiple copies of your tasks to Dropbox which may result in duplicate tasks.

  1. Choose ONE primary device that contains the most current and correct version of your tasks
  2. On your primary device that you selected in Step 1, switch sync services to Dropbox
  • Todo for iOS Devices:
    • Tap the Settings button at the bottom right
    • Select Synchronization
    • Select Switch Sync Service and tap the Switch button to disconnect from your current sync service (or ignore this step if you do not sync with any other service)
    • Select Dropbox as your new sync option (located in third party sync services)
    • Log in to your Dropbox account
  • Todo for Mac:
    • Open the Todo app's Preferences... (from the Todo menu)
    • Select the Synchronization tab
    • Click the Switch Services button to disconnect from your current sync service (or ignore this step if you do not sync with any other service)
    • Select Dropbox as your new sync option (located in third party sync services)
    • Log in to your Dropbox account
  • Synchronize your tasks to Dropbox
    • Todo for iOS Devices:
      • Pull down the task list to activate sync
    • Todo for Mac
      • Press Command+S to activate a sync

    On Your Other Devices

    Note: The easiest way to avoid duplicating tasks is to uninstall and reinstall Todo on your other devices.

    • Todo for iOS Devices:
      • Tap the Settings button at the bottom right
      • Select Synchronization
      • Select Switch Sync Service and tap the Switch button to disconnect from your current sync service (or ignore this step if you do not sync with any other service)
      • Select Dropbox as your new sync option (located in third party sync services)
      • Once you have logged in tap the Advanced button at the bottom of the screen
      • Tap RESET SYNC (WARNING: If you do not perform a reset sync your tasks will be duplicated)
    • Todo for Mac:
      • Open the Todo app's Preferences... (from the Todo menu)
      • Select the Synchronization tab
      • Click the Switch Services button to disconnect from your current sync service (or ignore this step if you do not sync with any other service)
      • Select Dropbox as your new sync option (located in third party sync services)
      • Once you have logged in click RESET SYNC (WARNING: If you do not perform a reset sync your tasks will be duplicated)
