Using Siri with TaskFire

There are two versions of Siri, and TaskFire works with both. Which one you get depends on your iPhone.

Which Siri do you have?

Siri AI arrived with iOS 27 on iPhone 15 Pro and newer. You talk to it in a full sentence and it works out the details.

The classic Siri is what every other iPhone uses. It still works, and it still adds tasks to TaskFire, but you have to say things in a particular way.

To check, open Settings, then Siri. If you see Try Siri AI (Beta), you don't have it turned on yet. Tap it and follow the prompts. Apple puts you on a waitlist, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days, and Siri AI turns on by itself once you're through.

If you don't see that option at all, your iPhone doesn't support Siri AI. That's Apple's requirement, not ours, and the classic Siri section below is the one for you.

The Siri tab inside TaskFire (the second tab) lists everything TaskFire can do with Siri AI. It shows the same list on every phone, so if you have the classic Siri, not all of it will work for you.

Siri AI, on iOS 27

You need TaskFire 12.0 or later for this, so update in the App Store first.

Say what you want in one sentence, in your own words. Just say "in TaskFire" at the start or the end of the sentence so Siri knows where it goes.

Add a task

"Hey Siri, add buy milk in TaskFire"

"Hey Siri, in TaskFire, remind me to order pictures"

Add details in the same sentence

You can include a due date, a time, a list, a star, a tag, a note, or a repeat, and Siri fills them in.

"Hey Siri, add call the dentist tomorrow at 3pm to my Work list in TaskFire"

"Hey Siri, add pick up the dry cleaning Friday and star it in TaskFire"

"Hey Siri, in TaskFire, add renew my passport with the note bring two photos"

"Hey Siri, add plan the trip and tag it travel in TaskFire"

"Hey Siri, add take out the recycling every Tuesday to my Home list in TaskFire"

Say several things at once

You don't have to stop between tasks.

"Hey Siri, in TaskFire, I need to buy stamps, call Mom tomorrow at 7, book the flight on Thursday, and pick up the dry cleaning Saturday at 10"

Each one becomes its own task.

Add what's on your screen

While you're reading an email, a text message, a note, or a web page:

"Hey Siri, add this to TaskFire"

Siri reads the screen and makes the task for you. If it's a web page, the link is saved in the task.

Ask about your tasks

"Hey Siri, what's on my Work list in TaskFire?"

"Hey Siri, in TaskFire, what does the note on renew my passport say?"

"Hey Siri, show my tasks tagged travel in TaskFire"

Make a list

"Hey Siri, in TaskFire, make a new list called Garden"

Delete a task

"Hey Siri, delete buy milk in TaskFire"

Find a task from your home screen

Swipe down on your home screen and type part of a task name. Your TaskFire tasks appear in the results along with everything else on your iPhone.

A few things worth knowing

If your list name is close to another one, Siri asks which one you meant and you pick from what it offers.

Dates and clock times work the way you say them. Vaguer times like "tonight" or "Saturday morning" don't become due dates yet, so say an actual time or a day.

Marking a task done by voice isn't working with Siri AI at the moment. Siri finds the task, and then the request doesn't reach us. We're working with Apple on it. It works from the Shortcuts app and it works on the classic Siri.

Location reminders, checklists, and projects can't be set up by voice yet.

The classic Siri

If your iPhone doesn't have Siri AI, everything below still works and has for years.

First, check Siri is allowed to use TaskFire

1. Open Settings
2. Scroll down to TaskFire and tap it
3. Tap Siri & Search
4. Make sure Use with Siri is on

TaskFire asks for this the first time you open it, so it is usually already on.

How to phrase it

The classic Siri needs to know the app and the action. Always start with "In TaskFire".

Add a task

"In TaskFire, add buy bread"

"In TaskFire, remind me to order pictures"

"In TaskFire, create a task to walk the dog"

Add to a particular list

"In TaskFire, create a task to pay the power bill in my finance list"

"In TaskFire, remind me to wash the dishes in my home list"

If your list has the word "list" in its name, say list twice: "In TaskFire, add bananas to my grocery list list"

Add a due date

"In TaskFire, remind me to clean the house next week"

"In TaskFire, remind me to buy a birthday present on January 22nd"

"In TaskFire, add buy groceries on Saturday in home list"

Make a list

"In TaskFire, create a new list"

"In TaskFire, create a list called shopping"

Mark something done

"In TaskFire, mark buy bananas as complete"

Siri Shortcuts

Shortcuts are still there if you want them. They let you build your own commands for things you do often, and they work on both versions of Siri. See Siri Shortcuts in TaskFire.

Still not working?

Two quick things to check first:

1. You're on TaskFire 12.0 or later, from the App Store
2. Use with Siri is on, in Settings > TaskFire > Siri & Search
