If you'd like to export your ToDo data to a CSV file to use elsewhere here's everything you need to know in a few simple steps. 


Exporting Your ToDo Database


Upon upgrading from ToDo v.8 to ToDo v.10 you'll be prompted with a brief message that we have dropped support for iCloud, Dropbox and Toodledo sync in favor of our own ToDo Cloud Sync. You will be given the option to continue with the upgrade to migrate your data to ToDo Cloud (v.10) or export your database and discontinue using ToDo. 



From this screen, here's what you'll need to do next:


  1. Tap on Export Data.
  2. Enter your email address in the compose email window that appears.
  3. Tap on "Send" to have your database sent to the email address you specified above.


Note: You'll need to have at least one email account added to the Apple Mail app, in order to use the export data function. 


Retrieving Your ToDo tasks


  1. Look in your email for a message sent by ToDo with the subject, 'Todo Database.'
  2. That email includes an attachment. Download the AppigoTodo_v13.sqlitedb database file attached to that email and save it to your Desktop.
  3. Download and install a free SQLlite database reader. We recommend SQLlite Browser. Once on the https://sqlitebrowser.org/ webpage click on Download. Then download the appropriate macOS or Windows standard installation file. 


SQLite Installation Instructions (Mac OS)

  1. After downloading the file from https://sqlitebrowser.org/ install the app by opening the .dmg file and dragging and dropping the DB Browser for SQLlite app to your Applications folder. 
  2. Launch the DB Browser for SQLlite app.
  3. Drag and drop the AppigoTodo_v13.sqlitedb database file into the DB Browser for SQLlite app.
  4. Click File on the menu bar and follow these steps: -> Click Export -> Export table(s) as CSV file.
  5. Select the Tasks table, and the Taskitos table (the taskitos table contains your checklists subtasks).
  6. Click Save, and when a prompt appears click save once again.

SQLite Installation Instructions (Windows)

  1. After downloading the file from https://sqlitebrowser.org/ install the DB Browser for SQLlite app by opening the .msi installer and following the prompts to complete the installation. 
  2. Launch the DB Browser for SQLlite app.
  3. Click on File ->  Open Database -> Locate the AppigoTodo_v13.sqlitedb database which you saved to your desktop -> Select the database -> Click Open. 
  4. With the database opened in DB Browser for SQLlite, follow these steps: Click File -> Export -> Export Table(s) as CSV file... -> Select the "Tasks" and "Taskitos” table then click the Save button -> choose where you'd like to save the CSV file then click Save once more.
