Task creation with Text Extraction

Modified on Mon, 15 Jun, 2020 at 9:36 AM

We are using a cutting edge algorithm so please note that this first version is far from perfect. It is designed for handwriting and while it does well with clean text and most printed text, the result for extracting text in cursive writing is not great at this time and this currently only supports English. The system is also using a machine learning algorithm, that can make sense of objects in images and will provide some contextual information about what it sees.

Here's how you can extract your written text:

  1. Click the insertAttachments button next to the 'Create' task button
  2. Click on 'Browse for file' to find the file you want to attach.

  3. Select the file, and then select Open to add it to your task.

  4. Click on Extract Writing from the selected file (this will only work for photos/images).
  5. The extracted text will be added to the task as a note,  type your task name in the Task Title field

  6. Click 'Create Task'

If you are using the iOS app, please see our article here

Note: This is currently in beta, and only supports English.
